JELET Entrance Examination
JELET is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). The JELET Rank is eligibility for admission to lateral entry into 2nd year (3rd semester) of the four year courses of Bachelor Degree in Engineering/ Technology and Pharmacy i.e. BE, BTech, Bpharm.

JELET Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must be a citizen of India
Age Limit
- There is no upper age limit for Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology/ Pharmacy.
- For B. Sc. Candidates, the upper age limit should not be more than 27 (twenty seven) years.
- For Diploma holders in marine Engineering, the upper age limit should not be more than is 25 years
Educational Qualificationsi) Diploma holders seeking admission into Engineering & Technology Degree Course:a. The candidate should have successfully completed their Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institutions scoring a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA.
b. All relevant norms of D. G. Shipping will be applicable for admission into Degree Course in Marine Engineering.
ii) B. Sc. candidates seeking admission into Engineering & Technology Degree Course:a. The candidate must have successfully completed their B. Sc. Degree from any University recognised by UGC scoring a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA.
b. The candidate must have passed their class 12 board examination with Mathematics as a subject.
c. The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing of the 1st year Degree Course in Engineering/Technology along with their second year subjects
d. B.Sc candidates will be considered for admission only if vacancies remain even after filling the seats with available Diploma holder candidates.
e. B.Sc Candidates are not eligible for admission into Degree Course in Pharmacy.
iii) Both Diploma holder and B. Sc. Candidates seeking admission into Engineering/Technology Degree Course:a. Both such candidates will also be eligible got admission to the 1st year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes incase the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria.
iv) Diploma holders in Pharmacy seeking admission into Degree Course in Pharmacy:a. The candidate must pass have a diploma in Pharmacy from an AICTE approved institution scoring a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA.
b. Candidates will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Degree course subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes incase the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria.
v) Special criteria for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry:a. B. Sc. Degree holders are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
b. Candidates must have qualified Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in Science Stream in regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination from a recognised Council/Board scored minimum 60% marks in above subjects taken together (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) marks as well as pass mark in English with a minimum of 30% (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
c. Candidates must have individual pass mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
JELET Admit Card
Candidates can generate their admit cards on the notified date from the official website and take a print. Candidate are required to carry a printed hard copy of the admit card to the examination centre.

JELET Evaluation and declaration of result
a) Candidates will receive the final results published in the form of
Rank Cards, which will contain all relevant ranks and total score. Rank
cards will be available only from the portal
www.result.shikshab) Candidates will be able to view and download their rank card by logging in with login id password.

- Engg. Mathematics: 20 questions
- Electrical Technology: 15 questions
- Computer Application: 20 questions
- Environmental Engg: 15 questions
For candidates with Diploma in Engineering / Technology except Printing Technology and Agricultural Engineering
- Engineering Mechanics: 15 questions
- Strength of Materials: 15 questions
For candidates with Diploma in Printing Technology
- Basic Printing Engineering: 15 questions
- Printers’ Materials Science: 15 questions
For candidates with Diploma in Agricultural Engg.
- Soil & Water: 10 questions
- Farm Machinery and Power: 10 questions
- Food Processes and Food Harvest Engineering: 10 questions
For candidates with B. Sc. Degree
- Mathematics: 100 questions
For candidates with Diploma in Pharmacy
JELET Exam Pattern
The paper will contain one hundred (100) MCQ type questions, with four answer options each. Each question carries 1 mark, full mark of the paper is 100 and duration of the test is 2 hours.
Medium of Language: English only.
