JEHOM: Under Graduate Hotel Management Admission Test

JEHOM is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). The test score is used for admission to full time Under Graduate (UG) program in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. On successful completion of coursework Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) Degree is awarded.

JEHOM Institutes


On the basis of JEHOM score UG Hotel Management seats are offered in following institutions:

NSHM School of Hotel Management

Siliguri Institute of Technology

Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management

Reservation: Being private self-financed institutes, no reservation of seats is applicable in all the three concerned institutes taking admission in Hotel Management and Catering Technology through JEHOM.

JEHOM Eligibility criteria


Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India
Age: The age of the candidate should at least be 17 years.
Educational Qualification:
i) The candidate must qualify and obtain a rank in JEHOM.
ii) The candidate must have successfully completed their 10+2 level examination in regular mode from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or from any other equivalent board scoring a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.


JEHOM Syllabus


The tests will be based on 11th and 12th standard syllabi of Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE)

JEHOM Question Paper Pattern


The JEHOM paper will comprise of 50 MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) type questions, with four answer options each. Each question carries 2 marks, full mark of the paper is 100 and duration of the test is 1 hour 30 minutes. The questions will be in English language only.
The paper contains four sections as follows,
  • English Language: 15 questions
  • General Knowledge: 15 questions
  • Logical Reasoning: 10 questions
  • Elementary Mathematics: 10 questions

JEHOM Scoring Methodology


i) All questions will have four answer options each
ii) Only one out of four options is correct
ii) Correct response carries 2 mark each
iv) -1/2 (25% negative) marks will be deducted for each incorrect response
v) For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks
vi) No marks will be deducted for unattempt questions

JEHOM Exam Centres


During online application process, the candidate are required to choose any 2 (two) of the following examination zones.
  1. Kolkata
  2. Durgapur
  3. Siliguri

JEHOM Evaluation and Declaration of Result


a) Candidates will receive the final results published in the form of Rank Cards, which will contain all relevant ranks and total score. Rank cards will be available from the portal www.result.shiksha
b) Candidates will be able to view and download their rank card by logging in with login id password.
