Aliah University

Aliah University started its first academic session in 2008-09 and was confirmed the status of minority institution as per Aliah University Act 2007. It is an autonomous university in the state of West Bengal under the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education, Government of West Bengal. It aims to bring changes in higher education learning by merging modernity with tradition. The main objective behind the establishment of Aliah University was to promote higher learning among the backward minority class in West Bengal. It strives for excellence in teaching and overall development of the students.

Aliah University offers Doctoral Programmes through various departments leading to award of M.Phil and Ph.D degrees etc. Post Doctoral programmes are also offered.

Library of Aliah University

Aliah University Library started its operations from Salt Lake Campus since March 2010. Academic and research scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff can access the library.The university library system comprises 03 campus located at Newtown, Park Circus and Taltala. The Newtown Library deals with Engineering & Technology, Management, Pure Science and Biological Science collection while the Park Circus library covers the collection on Humanities, Nursing, Law, Education etc. The oldest library situated at Taltala campus has books on Islamic Theology.
